The Abbey of Waverley is situated upon the bank of the river Wey, in a secluded valley two miles south of Farnham, in Surrey.
This volume was issued in respect of the annual subscription for the year 1904 to the Surrey Archaeological Society by order M. S. Giuseppe, FSA Hon. Secretary

A visit to Crofton Roman villa has been arranged and Dr Brian Philp has kindly agreed to show us round. The site was fully excavated by the Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit, which now manages the scheme in conjunction with Bromley Council.

Following our visit last year we will be making a return at the end of this season's excavation, when the site director will give us a tour around the site. There will be an option to have tea at the cafe after the visit.
Although there is no cost for the trip, a donation towards the project would be welcome. One will be expected to make one's own way to the site, and booking is essential. Please contact john.felton@ntlworld.com if you would like to attend.
David Rudling has kindly offered to take us on a walking tour around Roman Chichester. This will include the city wall, Novium Museum and bath house, the mosaic in the cathedral and the ampitheatre. A lunchtime venue will be arranged.

This book was originally published in 1991 and is made available here by kind permission of the author.
This publication is now out of print but continues to be highly relevant to students of Surrey's rich archaeology and history.
