Surrey Archaeological Society will hold a Heritage Open Day at their Research Centre in Abinger Hammer. The central Lithics Group will be in attendance studying and cataloguing lithics collections (mainly flint items) and there will be an opportunity to explore the Society Library. Other activities are under consideration.
Our February e-newsletter is out and contains information on upcoming events and news, including booking info for our Annual Symposium and Disposal of the Dead conferences in March, and upcoming fieldwork opportunities. For past e-newsletters, visit the webpage, or email info@surreyarchaeology.org.uk to be added to the mailing list.

Our Summer excavation 2024 will take place at Cocks Farm Abinger. Following excavations on the scheduled Roman villa site our focus has moved to the field adjacent to the villa. Magnetometry indicated a series of field boundaries, ditches, pits and other anomalies (see https://www.surreyarchaeology.org.uk/content/excavations-at-cocks-farm-roman-villa-abinger-2009-present-interim-reports).
