Annual Local History Symposium - Change and Continuity in Surrey Churches and Chapels

The Local History Committee will be holding their Annual Symposium on Saturday 2nd April 2016 at The Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE. The symposium will cover various aspects of church history and also look at useful sources for historians.

Death, Disease and Damnation

The theme for the Local History Committee’s annual symposium next year will be 'Death, Disease and Damnation' exploring attitudes to death and its causes, belief, burial and commemoration. It will be attended by local historians from across Surrey and local history societies put on displays.The Gravett Award will be presented to the group presenting the best display.
