Horsell Common, Woking

Excavation of a trench across the westernmost bell barrow on Horsell Common by volunteers from SyAS under the direction of D and A Graham, with further assistance from members of the Horsell Common Preservation Society. The work, carried out in advance of footpath diversion and restoration works, highlighted that the barrow had been subject to a large number of 19th and 20th century interventions, but that much of the original structure survived intact.
