A Study of the Patterns on Roman Flue Tiles and their Distribution

This 'Research Paper of the Surrey Archaeological Society, No.1' was written by A.W G Lowther after excavations on Ashtead Common (1926-28) revealed a large number of Roman flue tiles with elaborate patterns. This led to research across Surrey to identify identical or similar patterns and this publication illustrates the results. Although published in the 1930s it is still used by researchers in the 21st century.
