Visit the interesting excavations at this Roman Villa site where evidence of settlement during the Iron Age has been found. Followed by a tour around Felday Hillfort which is not only an Iron Age enclosure but also the site of a WW1 POW camp. You will be guided by Emma Corke (SyAS) and Dr Judie English (SyAS). The Prehistoric Group has arranged a follow up dayschool with DrMatt Pope (UCL) and Dr Beccy Scott (British Museum) who will lead the group through evaluating Surrey Palaeolithics at Farnham Museum. More details will be on the website in due course or contact the office. Register your interest now.
The 'People of the Heath' project is now in it's final year and has investigated the Petersfield Barrow Cemetery with many interesting finds. The last season of excavation will be from 27th June to 15th July and this talk will discuss the project so far and the aims of the 2017 dig. The director, George Anelay, will be our speaker.

ICOMOS-UK hold an annual Christmas Lecture each year in December, bringing together our membership and others interested in cultural heritage for a festive evening of wine, mince pies and a talk from an expert speaker. This year, they are pleased to be celebrating the 2016 inscription of the UK’s latest World Heritage Site, Gorham’s Cave Complex, the Neanderthal cave site in Gibraltar, with a talk from Professor Clive Finlayson, Director of the Gibraltar Museum and of Gorham’s Cave Complex.
