Dear L, 

This is situate about 35 miles from London on the Portsmouth line. thought you might like P.C. of Place I have visited today surrounded by nice Country but not equal to ? !

Many thanks for nice letter to which I will reply later, am writing this while waiting at the Rly station.

Mrs Booth leaves Headquarters (2a Victoria St) at 5.30 tonight on her motor tour. I hope to see the fleet of cars leave. Goodbye S.

The reference to Mrs Booth is likely to Florence Booth, wife of Bramwell Booth, son of the founder of the Salvation Army, who was undertaking a motor tour of 50 places in 15 days in the steps of William Booth (see Daily News 19 June 1919)
