Dear May Did you or didn't you come? I certainly couldn't find you. I was stranded in a tea place from about a quarter past five to half past six right over in the Imperial Gardens - no mack, no umbrella and a muslin dress and you know how it came down. I arrived at the Chute somewhere about quarter to seven and waited until quarter of an hour there and then had a search until about 8 o'clock. No trace and found the others who had all been spying out for you. Also no trace so we just headed back to the Western Gardens to the bandstand and supper.  Do hope you were not wandering around. A pity it rained and had a pretty hard time at the Hall until 5pm and then struck them. Yrs love xxx
