MSF AGM and lecture on St Johns Jerusalem

Date:
Thursday, 13 November, 2025 - 19:00 to 21:00

This year's MSF AGM will be preceded by an online talk 'Recent investigations at St John's Jerusalem, Sutton-at-Hone' by Nathalie Cohen (National Trust), Anne Sassin (Kent Downs) and Alastair Oswald (English Heritage).

Preceptories (or commanderies) of the Knights of St John Hospitaller in England have only been the subject of limited archaeological investigation, so the opportunity to explore St John’s Jerusalem, Sutton-at-Hone was an exciting prospect. During 2023-4, the National Trust and the Darent Valley Landscape Partnership undertook a series of projects across the property, including geophysical and landscape survey, excavation and finds research. This talk will present the results of this work and highlight the potential for further investigation at this significant medieval moated site.

The lecture will begin at 19:00 and is open to all. The AGM is expected to follow at 20:15 (only MSF members will be able to vote). Further details on the AGM will be available shortly to MSF members, but registration for the lecture is now open.

Registration will be necessary to attend this Zoom meeting. Please see below for the registration link:
