Woking Palace Open Day

The site of the medieval manor and Tudor Palace of Woking will be open for the first time this year on 11th & 12th May. Guided tours of the 8 acre moated site and its above ground remains will run throughout the day until 4pm. There will be various displays including ones by a local historian, the palace bee-keeper, Surrey Wildlife Trust and Surrey Heritage's community archaeologist with details of the new Heritage Lottery Fund Project to be run by the Friends, which will include excavations to gain further knowledge of the Scheduled Monument. No parking at the site but parking (free) is available in Old Woking and the route to the site (approx 1 mile) is signed. For further information see www.woking-palace.org
