RSG talk by James Bromwich on 'Commemorating the Dead: mausolea, towers and caskets'

Date:
Tuesday, 1 December, 2026 - 19:30 to 21:30

We are pleased to announce that, for the December meeting of our winter talks series, we will be holding a in-person meeting at East Horsley Village Hall. A talk by James Bromwich on 'Commemorating the Dead: mausolea, towers and caskets' will be followed by a Christmas social event. This is for members only, giving RSG members the chance to socialise in person rather than meeting on Zoom.

James is the author of several acclaimed guides to the Roman remains of France. These include guides on Northern France, Southern France, Brittany, Normandy and the Loire Valley. His latest book The Roman remains of SW France: from the Loire Valley to the Pyrenees is due t be published by Archaeopress in August 2026.

If you are a Surrey Archaeological Society member you can join RSG for free. Just sign up on the membership page on the website.
