Roman Studies Group AGM and talk by Claire Raynsford, Osteoarchaeologist

The first of RSG's winter series of talks commences with the group's Annual General Meeting.

Once business is concluded Claire Raynsford, an eminent osteoarchaeologist, will talk to us about animal bones in ritual deposits. Claire  is the bone specialist for the Silchester 'Town Life' Project 1997-2002and is responsible for the animal remains chapter in Late Iron Age Calleva: The Pre-Conquest Occupation At Silchester Insula IX. Silchester Roman Town: The Insula IX Town Life Project: Volume 3. Within Surrey Claire has written the bone report for Church Meadow Ewell 2012-14 and has examined the bones from the excavations at Charlwood.
