More Medieval Towns in Surrey

Date:
Saturday, 14 November, 2009 - 10:30 to 16:30

Following last year’s very successful meeting on Surrey’s Medieval Towns, the next meeting of the Forum will focus again on the factors that influenced the development of medieval towns in the County featuring Croydon, Kingston, Lingfield and Haslemere.  We are lucky to have Dr Oliver Harris, research fellow of University College, London and author of a very interesting book on the development of Croydon, to speak to the meeting. In addition Dr David Robinson, formerly the County Archivist for Surrey, Mrs Janet Bateson, Chairman of Hayward Memorial Local History Centre and Mr Peter Balmer of Surrey Archaeological Society will be sharing the results of their own researches into Kingston, Lingfield and Haslemere respectively.

Please see the Programme and application form for further details of the meeting
