Dig for a Day Scheme running at Woking Palace

Would you like to be an archaeologist for a day?

This September local people are invited to ‘Dig for a Day’ on the Archaeological Project at Woking Palace – an important Tudor Royal Palace used by Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.
Surrey’s Community Archaeologist Abby Guinness will enable those who have not dug before (or who have less than 5 days experience of practical archaeology) to experience working in an archaeological trench, absolutely FREE. The Woking Palace Community Archaeology Programme will be running on:

14th, 15th and 16th September
21st, 22nd and 23rd September
28th September

There will be a site open day on Sunday 30th September

Please note: To permit the greatest possible opportunity to participate September 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd have been reserved, in the first instance, for those in full time employment during the week.
15 and 16 year olds must be accompanied on site by a parent
