My dearest D, I am writing this in a tea-garden at the top of Richmond Hill. Don't know if there will be time to get as far as Aunt Janis but Harry seems to think it can be managed. It is now ten.

Dear Monkey, I went and saw our brothers & sister on Saturday. Got locked in - don’t know if they thought I was one also. With love Joe.
