As part of our ongoing project at Abinger Roman villa we are looking at the environs for evidence of land use and rural settlement. We did some fieldwalking last Autumn and now several fields have been ploughed to the north-east of The Crossways, Abinger. We have a limited time to walk them before they are sown and therefore we are doing a day of fieldwalking this coming Friday, 7th March. We will meet at the barn at Crossways Farm, on the A25 just to the east of Abinger where there is parking available at 10am. Please let me know if you can make it. Stout boots and warm/ weatherproof  clothing recommended. Bring a packed lunch. No toilet facilities available.
